QB battle brewing in New York

One of the biggest stories lurking in the NFL this offseason is the quarterback dispute between Geno Smith and Mark Sanchez.

Though all the fans are crying out, “Geno and the Jets,” opposed to “Bennie and the Jets,” it looks as if the locker room is siding with Sanchez.

“I think Mark is a fantastic quarterback for us, and I think he can do some good things,” New York Jets center Eric Mangold told ESPN last week. “He showed some good flashes in the spring, getting (new offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg’s) system down and commanding the offense the way that he should be. We’ll see how training camp plays out, but either way, the competition will make him a better player.”
