Ex-WVU Linebacker Pleads Guilty To Pair Of Felonies

Former Mountaineer linebacker Branko Brusick is facing four to 20 years in prison.  Brusick pleading guilty to two counts of assault during the commission of a felony for incidents this past summer in Monongalia County.

On June 23rd, Brusick hit a man walking down Walnut Street and attempted to rob him. Then on July 11th, Busick and co-defendant Nicholas Conques robbed another man at an apartment on High Street. Prosecutors say Brusick had a handgun and used force on the victim in that incident. Brusick was redshirted in 2009 and appeared in two games with WVU in 2010.

Brusick was expected to compete for playing time at middle linebacker before he was kicked off the team in July.
