On Saturday, to no one’s surprise, West Virginia announced the first of what will eventually be three new hires to its defensive coaching staff when Joe DeForest officially was brought aboard.
The former Oklahoma State special teams and safeties coach had resigned his position at OSU in midweek and said it was to take a job at WVU, but his hiring had to go through routine channels first.
