WVU Pride Travel Fund 2009 Kicks Off

West Virginia University’s “Pride of West Virginia” will soon head back to Morgantown and is already planning to hit the road with the Mountaineers, it just needs your help to get there. The band is teaming up with the WVU Alumni Association for the third year for the Pride Travel Fund.

The money raised covers the almost $100,000 needed to cover the travel expenses of the nearly 400 students and staff.

“It takes nine buses to travel, it takes almost 120 hotel rooms, plus feeding the band, says band director Jay Drury. “It’s a very expensive venture and it would be nearly impossible if not impossible to travel without help from our fans.”

The band hopes to play during games at Auburn and Cincinnati this year, along with other appearances in the region.

You can donate by contacting the WVU Foundation at (304) 284-4000.
